Train listening with sentence replay and automatic pauses
Use sentence navigation, playback speed and automatic pauses to build a focused listening-and-speaking exercise.
You may understand a scene while repeatedly missing one line. Instead of replaying the entire episode, focus on that small section.
Identify the difficulty
Listen without text and write what you hear. Check the caption: was the word unfamiliar, or was its spoken form hard to recognize? For the first problem, study meaning and examples. For the second, listen for connected sounds and reductions.
Use the pause to speak
FilmLang can pause after a sentence and resume manually or after a chosen delay. Repeat the dialogue aloud during that space, then express the same meaning in your own words. Two carefully practised lines are a manageable session goal.
Slow down, then return to normal speed
Reduced speed helps unpack difficult audio. Once you understand it, replay at the original speed for rhythm. Memorizing the text through repeated viewing does not necessarily show that you can understand an unfamiliar line.
Transfer the phrase
Try the expression in another situation or give a friend a new example. Finish with an observable task: understand the sentence without text, explain its meaning or give an appropriate reply. The movie-learning routine shows where sentence practice fits into a session.
